CEFTER COMMENCES 2021/2022 SESSION's ORIENTATION EXERCISE FOR FRESH STUDENTS

Benue State University Centre for Food Technology and Research has commenced the orientation exercise for freshly admitted students into her nine Post Graduate Programmes.

Declaring the exercise opened, the Centre Leader & Director CEFTER, Dr Barnabas Ikyo congratulated the new intakes on thier admission into CEFTER assuring that everything is been put in place to ensure they all have a smooth sail in their respective Post Graduate programmes

Dr Ikyo explained that a total of sixty nine students were admitted for the 2021/2022 Academic session. A breakdown of the figure showed twenty nine (29) doctoral students and forty (40) masters students respectively.

The centre Leader said various unit heads were contacted and mobilized to engaged the freshers on various themes to help empower them on some core considerations required to help them stay safe and enjoy their residency on the programme.

In her remarks, the Deputy centre Leader Professor Mrs. Igbum charged the students to take the orientation exercise seriously explaining that because of the travel restrictions in some cities across some west a d central African states due to COVID-19 control measures, CEFTER ICT desk office has created an online platform to enable some of the newly admitted students participate in the programme via zoom.

Professor Igbum explained that the exercise is a two weeks long programme which is expected to be participatory, engaging and interesting. She added that participation in the exercise is compulsory for all students because it is a condition for validating their admission and induction into the CEFTER family.

Among the Unit heads who engaged the students today at the orientation were the university librarian and the bursar respectively.

On their part, some of the students who interacted with CEFTER NEWS CREW appreciated management of the university for the efforts put in place to welcome them and make them really comfortable.

The newly admitted students could not hide their joy and eagerness to get to class.
